Elijah Latin was born July 20,1950 in Tomball, Texas, his mother was of Native American descent. In 1954 his parents moved to a small settlement called Kohrville, Texas, which is about 12 miles north of Houston, Texas. Elijah was among the 1st group of black students that integrated and attended Klein High School in 1965. Later, in 1986 he became a long haul Truck driver delivering goods (over the road) in the USA & Canada areas. He began writing while waiting on truckloads and during long breaks, as a result it became his passion, and he was encouraged by many to share his writings.
Elijah began writing poems for friends and relatives. His poems were well loved by all whom he wrote for, so came the idea of putting his poems in book form. After retiring from trucking in 2017, Elijah concentrated on his writing and getting his poems published. With less work to do Elijah discovered he had a green thumb and started a vegetable garden, growing tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, and melons. His garden also included fruits such as blueberries, apples, lemons, and grapes. Just like his green thumb, Elijah's poems are different from your ordinary poems, they are unique, inspirational, hilarious, and very enjoyable.
Elijah has a great imagination mixed with talent for writing poems which brought to light Elijah's 1st book, "Elijah's Book of Poems." Since then Elijah has released his second book on August 2020, "Elijah's Book Of Poems 2", with 140 assorted poems ranging from spiritual, love, and humor. The author also included as a bonus, a short story of him as a teenager growing up in Kohrville, Texas, a small country town, just north of Houston, Texas. It's entertaining and an enjoyable read. Elijah's latest book, "Kohrville Texas, The Black Settlement" just released and is a masterpiece, It's a must read!
